Canvas and Snacks
The Goodland Public Library will be hosting a Canvas and Snacks event on Wednesday, August 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Library. Heidi Cobleigh will be the instructor for this class. Heidi will be teaching us how to paint trees with a sea sponge. She will provide all of the supplies.
The class is limited, so stop by to reserve a spot. The cost will be $15.00 per person and payable at time of sign up. Participants must be age 16 and up. Please call the Goodland Public Library at 219-297-4431 if you have any questions.
‘On Your Mark, Get Set, Read’
We’re excited to announce the Goodland Public Library 2016 Summer Reading Program. This years program will be exploring many ways to visit the ‘On Your Mark, Get Set, Go, Read” theme.
Activities will include an author visit to explore what all is involved in writing a book, a get physical day where we will have visitors from the Lafayette Aviator’s baseball team, a recycle day, a let’s celebrate day, two craft days and the program will end with a Pizza Party.
The Summer Reading Program will be on every Wednesday from 12:45pm to 1:45pm starting on June 8 through July 13. Mark your calendar, come join us and have lots of fun with our ‘On Your Mark, Get Set’ ideas. Please come in to sign up or you may call the Goodland Public Library at 219-297-4431.

Download Audio books, eBooks, anytime, anywhere
The Goodland Public Library has expanded its services to include audio books and ebooks, available to download from the library’s website. Library card holders can check out and download digital media anytime, anywhere by visiting https://goodland.lib.in.us and clicking on the OverDrive® Digital Media link.
Users may browse the Indiana Digital Download Center website, check out with a valid library card and password, and download to PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices. To get started, users will need to install free software. For audio books you will need OverDrive® Media ConsoleTM. To read eBooks, users will need Adobe® Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® ReaderTM, and many others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!
With hundreds of popular fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from, the new collection is guaranteed to have something for everyone.
This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card and is available today.
